What is a sound bath?

Sound goes where no other medicine can.
It creates space for deep healing and transformation by reconnecting with the stillness and infinite nature of the true self. Sound is pure creative potential, so its inclusion in your practice instantly amplifies its power.
Based on ancient healing techniques, vibrations of sound work on a cellular level to recalibrate the mind, body, and spirit. These healing frequencies stimulate alpha and theta brain wave frequencies, balance the hemispheres of the brain, and promote a sense of ease and inner peace. In addition to relief from chronic pain and migraines, benefits of a sound bath include improved sleep, reduction of stress and anxiety, as well as a renewed sense of well-being, calm, and happiness.
A sound bath is like a deep tissue massage for your mind, body, and spirit!
The experience explained…
The sound bath will be hosted within the beautiful, intimate studio setting (Unit 7E, Old Hall Farmyard, Priory Ln, Little Wymondley, Hitchin SG4 7BL).
The workshops will generally be held in the evening* (to ease you into a soothing night’s rest).
*See individual workshop for confirmed date & time
With a maximum capacity of 11 – spaces are limited. This makes the offering more personal as I will be able to assist with pose enhancements to individuals if needed. The mats are positioned well apart, so no-one will invade your space. You will be asked to close your eyes for the duration of the sound bath.
Just bring yourself!
Yoga mats, organic cotton blankets, bolsters, bricks and weighted eye pillows are all provided. As well as a large selection of crystals and aroma therapy to inspire transformative energy! Of course, you are more than welcome to wear or bring anything along that inspires or comforts you during the soundscape.
Private events
I am able to cater for individual sound baths, as well as parties, pre/post natal and corporate if so requested. Please contact me with any inquiries – Freddie.freeform@gmail.com

The History
It dates as far back as the Greeks apparently – physicians would use musical instruments to heal patients, tapping into the power of vibration to aid indigestion, treat mental disturbance, and promote sleep. The Native Americans also used singing, chanting, and drums as part of the sound healing process. It wasn’t until the end of the 19th century that researchers began to actually study the healing effects of music, gaining scientific backing – finding that it could lower blood pressure and assist the work of the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps your body calm down and recover from stress. And so it carry’s on to today..
